Fast forward 20 years, and we're both living our imagine of seeing the planet, one amazing continent at a time. Europe is hands down our favorite. We are biased, of course, as this is where we're from – Stefan is British/Greek Cypriot, and Seby is from France.

We've traveled extensively around Europe when growing up, as well as together as a gay couple. Of course, some places stood out to us more than others, so we list out what we found to be the best gay holiday destinations in Europe from our first-hand experience:

1. Sitges in Spain

For us, Sitges is the numero uno gay holiday destination in Europe. It's a tiny coastal town, around 45 45-minute train ride from Barcelona. For decades, it's been a famous LGBTQ mecca, full of many gay hangouts, all congregated together mainly along the Carrer de Joan Tarrida street.

How safe is Europe for gay travellers?

Overall, Europe is one of the safest places in the world for LGBTQ travelers, particularly in the West and Northern part of the continent. This is where you’ll find some of the best European gay travel destinations such as the Netherlands, Sweden, Iceland, Spain, Portugal, Malta, Finland, Norway, France, Denmark, the UK and France.

Sadly, parts of Central and Eastern Europe are extremely conservative and homophobic, especially Poland, Georgia, Moldova and Belarus. However, there are some pink havens in East/Central Europe in particular Prague, Vienna, Llubljana, Tallinn, Bucharest, Budapest and Bratislava.
