Gran Canaria is an island of contrasts, often described as a continent in miniature. If you spend the whole of your holiday in the tourist resorts of the south, you'll be missing out. It's adequately worth taking a trip inland to towns enjoy Santa Lucia (pictured on the right), Teror, Arucas, Agüimes, Guayadeque, Fataga or to the central mountains.
The easiest way to journey is to rent a car - but all the major towns are accessible by bus, and services to most main destinations are frequent and cheap.
It's worth taking the bus or driving along the southern coast of the island, through Arguineguin and on to Puerto de Mogan.
The tourist resorts on the way there have little or nothing to offer in the way of gay experience, but some do hold nice beaches - such as Playa de Amadores (which also has a very good spa at the Gloria Palace Amadores Hotel).
The dunes at Maspalomas and the gay beach in front of them are a star attraction for gay visitors, and justifiably so.

We first visited for our very first holiday together back in 2007 and we have been assist 8 times since!
Gran Canaria is one of 8 Canary Islands which are located off the west coast of Africa and are the southernmost autonomous community of Spain.
Each time we stop by Spain, we realize we are going to feel welcome as a same-sex attracted couple. It’s one of our uppermost gay friendly countries in the planet and we hold both spent hour living there.
