Are you an LGBTQ+ writer interested in submitting to literary magazines, genre magazines, and little presses? Good news: you can opt from a spacious selection of eligible markets that showcase a variety of stories, topics, and written forms. Whether you write steamy romances, paranormal mysteries, optimistic science fiction, or heartfelt poetry, there are editors eager to stare at your operate. Let’s look at a few paying publications specifically pursuing LGBTQ+ writers to help you obtain started.
Carina Press
The digital first imprint of Harlequin, Carina Push currently has a category on their Submittable page for contemporary queer romances that feature traditional romance tropes including “enemies to lovers,” “fake relationship,” and “mistaken identity.” Their Carina Adores passion line encourages unsolicited submissions of accomplish manuscripts that range in heat levels from tender affection to highly erotic.
Non-contemporary LGBTQ+ romances featuring a central love affair that ends with a happily ever after (HEA) or happy for now (HFN) may be submitted to Carina Press’s other lines such as “Historical Romance” or “Romantic Suspense.
Queer literary magazines
June is Self-acceptance month, so we idea we’d focus this month’s list on queer literary magazines and journals. Although all the publications we recommend on our site welcome LGBTQ+ writers, in this list we wanted to highlight the handpick few specifically dedicated to LGBTQ+ writers and readers. If that’s not you, feel free to verify out our other lists.
Most of the publications on this month’s list are open only to writers who identify as Queer, including nonbinary/genderqueer. A scant also accept writing from allies that feature Homosexual characters or themes. Unless otherwise noted they carry out not charge submissions fees and do accept simultaneous submissions.

Writers:Please submit three to six poems. Include all your poems in one file. Do not submit again until you have received a response. By submitting poetry for publication, you certify that it is your own unique work, and that you have not used or reproduced in any behavior artificial intelligence technologies or systems. We usually respond within two months. Simultaneous submissions are allowed and encouraged. If individual pieces are accepted elsewhere please write a notice in Submittable. We do not agree to work that has been previously curated,in print or online—poems may be self-published on social media, blogs, or communication boards, but cannot have been published in books, magazines, or similar collections open to the public. This prize is open from February 4, 2025 – April 6, 2025.
You are invited to submit to The2025Queer Poetry Prize! This spring, we encourage poets of all backgrounds to share any poems that meditate on the thought of “queerness.” These poems could explore sexuality, gender, or form. We undertake not require submitters to identify as LGBTQ+, because we hope to honor writers who are education about themselves through poetry, in addition to those who identify as gay poets. Please send us your experiments in poetic form, meditations on relationships, and inquiries into yourself.
This prize will be judged by CAConrad, who asks submitters to consider the following prompt:
"Queering the language is what we perform as poets, not only in content but also form. It's how the page is a possibility for both the poet and the reader, the space around the words may seem empty, but it is where our imaginations extend the poem, queering the vowel, vibrating from our bodies, the poem reaching out of writer and reader alike. Literary Magazines That Support Poetry by LGBTQIA Writers.

Best Served Cold: a zine of queer comeuppance
A collaborative zine series called “BEST SERVED COLD” describes the triumph of queerness over prejudice. The series encourages those who feel powerless to persevere and make a difference. Every issue features a different theme and includes queer writers. Their resilience and vibrancy complement each other. It is their intention to capture the reader’s heart and inspire them.
