Ford Builds 'Very Gay' Ranger Raptor In Response To Homophobic Comment

Friends, we stay in an age where the world is closer and more connected than ever. Social media proposals instantaneous communication with attractive much anyone, but such communication is a double-edged sword. That's a discussion for another place, but we will happily entertainment you one automaker's colorful response to discriminatory social media comments. And what an awesome response it is.

Ford's German branch has long supported Christopher Road Day (CSD) in Cologne, the location of the automaker's headquarters in Germany. Cologne also holds one of the largest CSD events in the nation, which is dedicated to celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. This year, Ford offered a rainbow-adorned Ranger Raptor for the occasion but the Raptor's origin was two-fold. It was also created due to a specific, negative social media commenter that called the Raptor's imaginative color of Performance Cerulean "very gay." As such, Ford specifically named this pickup the Very Lgbtq+ Raptor.

Recognizing the discriminatory tone of the comment, the automaker responded with an over-the-top image of a rainbow Ranger to make th

Ford Very Gay Ranger Raptor Makes Colorful Debut At Goodwood

Ford is going beyond last year's Very Gay Ranger with the new Very Gay Raptor. As the name implies, the truck uses the latest generation of the Ranger Raptor and dresses it in a Pride flag rainbow body and glittery gold accents. The truck will be part of a special presentation at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

In addition to taking a run up the hill there, the Very Gay Ranger's cargo bed will be the stage for sessions of what Ford calls "Tough Talks." Welsh rugby player Gareth Thomas, who is gay,  is having conversations about how the auto industry can be more inclusive and foster allyship for the LGBTQ+ people. The guests enclose racing driver Abbie Eaton, comedian Catherine Bohart, and Lord March.

Ford has not yet debuted the version of the latest Ranger for the United States. The company confirms that it and the Raptor version are coming in 2023, though. Show of them will take place at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne.

For Europe, the Raptor makes 288 horsepower (215 kilowatts) and 362 pound-feet (491 Newton-meters) of torque from a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. Elsewhere,

If you’ve ventured onto social media in the past week or two, you might have come across Ford’s Very Gay Raptor. The truck was originally created in 2021 and redesigned for last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. However, it’s back in the spotlight due to the culture wars.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, you’re undoubtedly aware that Bud Brightness could use some ‘real men of genius’ as their association with trans personality Dylan Mulvaney has sparked immense backlash. This has caused Bud Illumination sales to plummet by nearly 25% and some stores are effectively giving the beer away for free after rebate.

Anheuser-Busch strike a nerve and consumers responded, and now it appears certain individuals are looking for other companies to target as part of the Get Woke, Go Broke movement. This appears to be how Ford’s Very Gay Raptor entered the fold, despite being nearly two years old and introduced in Europe.

Insight & Strategy | Ford: Very Same-sex attracted Raptor

At the end of May 2021, Ford promoted its modern Ranger Raptor Exceptional Edition pickup truck in Europe with an action-packed, adrenaline-inducing video that showed the vehicle outpacing a landslide.

About two weeks after the video was released, one YouTube viewer commented that the colour of the truck was ‘very Gay’, suggesting that Ford paint it ‘BlackNGold [sic] or camo’ instead.

In response, on 25 June, Ford tweeted a digital animation of the Raptor decked out with a new rainbow and glittering gold color job, along with the caption ‘Very Gay was a compliment right?’, Joyful Pride, and #VeryGayRaptor.

London-based agencies VMLY&R, MakerHouse and Hill+Knowlton Strategies, then worked with Ford to create the Very Queer Raptor pickup in concrete life and accept it to the streets of Cologne, Germany, in celebration of Pride Day.
