Jean Paul Gaultier’s Pride 2024 Perfume Bottles Get The Keith Haring Treatment

Available starting May 15, Jean Paul Gaultier’s “Classique” and “Le Male” Pride bottles honouring the work of Keith Haring will be on shelves for a limited time…

Jean Paul Gaultier is celebrating Pride with an exciting new collaboration. The fashion house is introducing limited-edition “Classique” and “Le Male” bottles wrapped in queer artist and activist Keith Haring’s iconic “Once Upon a Time” mural. In 1990, just before he died, Haring painted the mural in a bathroom of what is now the The NYC LGBT Community Center. Endeavoring to tear down gender stereotypes and sartorial norms on the catwalk, making underwear outerwear, putting men in skirts and models of all shapes and sizes on the runway, Jean Paul Gaultier has created wildly provocative, transformational designs for morning dresses, gowns, tops and other garments that draw on numerous influences and boldly merge haute couture with highway sensibility.

An only infant raised in the suburbs of Paris, Gaultier didn’t hold a formal fashion education. Gaultier began his career in 1970 as an assistant to Cardin, who admired the sketches the 18-year-old had sent for his appraisal. After Gaultier had his first runway reveal in 1976, featuring unconventional statements love pairing motorcycle jackets with ballerina skirts, it didn’t receive long for his star to rise.
