iLoveMakonnen has called Kid Cudi “gay” for defending his decision to wear a dress.
The one-time Drake signee, who is openly lgbtq+, was reacting to a recent viral moment where a conspiracy theorist alleged that Cudi was taking part in an “Illuminati humiliation ritual” for wearing a floral dress while performing on SNL in 2021.
Cudi defended himself against the “stupid” claim, but Makonnen made it clear that he doesn’t consent with his explanation, writing on social media: “This same-sex attracted. Period. Men don’t need to wear dresses to show themselves. And this is coming from the one who started this male lover shit.”

At Sundance this weekend, it emerged that Kid Cudi snogged a guy for his new film James White. The rapper plays the gay best comrade to Christopher Abbott’s steer (Charlie from Girls) and filmed several takes kissing a male friend, played by David Call. Sadly though, the scenes didn’t make it into the finished movie. He told Billboard, “I’m mad [director Josh Mond] cut out my kissing scenes with David,” he said. “We made out so many times – and it was so good!
The motion picture is Cudi’s second major acting role – he previously starred in HBO’s How To Make It In America – and he said that he was happy to seize on the unexpected role. “This was way other than anything else I’ve ever done. It was dope to do that. I felt like I had a responsibility to present a different stride in life from that world.” He went on, “When he comes out of the closet it’s not really a thing,” Cudi told Billboard. “I think that’s something the world needs to spot . ‘Cause it’s not a thing. His new flick James White premiered during afternoon two of the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
According to Billboard, Cudi's character is lgbtq+ and the rapper wasn't uncomfortable portraying the role.

The movie's plot focuses on a youthful New Yorker struggling to take control of his reckless, self destructive habit in the face of momentous family challenges.
Cudi was cast as the gay best friend of the movie's heterosexual clue character, played by Christopher Abbot.
But viewers won't see Cudi coming out the closet to his friends or kissing a male friend during the film. Several of those scenes didn't make the final cut.

The Entergalactic creator took to Twitter on Saturday to speak to the comments he receives online about his sexuality, saying that he can’t even show that he’s happy without someone calling him gay.
