Hope and Healing

Syphilis rates are growing nationwide, so it's more important than ever to guard yourself. If you are having sex, the best way to reduce your risk of syphilis is by using condoms! What are the symptoms of syphilis? You may notice a chancre sore, which is a painless uncover sore at the site of infection (usually the genitals). This will depart away within a few weeks. Another telltale sign is a skin rash, which often is seen on the hands, feet, and chest but can appear on other parts of the body. Fever, hair loss, headaches, and fatigue may also be present. Untreated, syphilis can eventually attack the thinker and organs, head to irreparable wreck and even death. Treating early is important to create sure none of these things transpire to you! If you have syphilis, you may not notice any symptoms. The only way to know for sure if you have syphilis is to be tested. The CDC recommends testing every 6-12 months for sexually active adults; with STI rates as high as they are, we suggest as often as every 3 months.
