Coming out in general and coming out in public are two very different things for celebrities. Not all celebrities ever want to reveal information about their orientation because of how it may impact their career. Not all gay actors believe that the effects of public knowledge are harmful to their careers, but some see it as having a limiting effect on the types of roles made free to them. For this reason, some choose not to open up to the press and the public about their confidential life. Sadly, when you live your life in front of a camera, it can be tough to have full regulate of your own revelation, so many gay actors are outed without their permission. Well, we will not be outing anyone today. We will, however, be looking at actors who played gay roles before coming out in public or before they were outed by someone else.

While many of these stars had come out in private to their friends and family, their s*xual orientation wasn't famous, or at least confirmed, publicly. The pandemic clearly sucks, and it has for more than two years now. But big thanks are extended overdue for all the creative types who still managed to provide fun during the dark days of COVID quarantine, whether from their living rooms or outside filming with their smartphones.

Staged readings, concerts, short films and theater pieces all had their Zoom moments in the last couple of years. But two performers turned their homegrown musical revue into a full-on tour.

Like all of us, Emerson Collins and Blake McIver Ewing were stuck at home in those lockdown months. But an opportunity came to the talented duo and real-life couple by way of the Public Theater of San Antonio.

“Del [Shores] and I had done our Sordid Lives streams, so I was doing that. But the theater called Blake and me asking if we had a show,” Collins said. “They were willing to do anything for their audience to relish some theat

You might remember Blake McIver from his turn as Derek on “Full House” or as Waldo in the 1994 movie “The Minute Rascals.” But these days, 28-year-old McIver, formerly McIver Ewing, is working as a professional go-go dancer.

The buff former child actor told RumorFix that he came out as gay three years ago and began go-go dancing to help with self-esteem issues.

“I had so much shame about my body,” McIver said. “This was a way to express myself that was safe, sensual and fun.”

“I’m not hiding who I am anymore — not pretending I’m something I’m not,” he continued.

McIver raised enough capital in tips to finish his upcoming record, too.

Recently, McIver returned to the screen on the premiere episode of Bravo’s new reveal “The People’s Couch.”

On the show, McIver reacted to what he saw onscreen, along with a couple other viewers.
