‘Queer’, Luca Guadagnino’s Brand-new Gay Romance
Wednesday marked Luca Guadagnino’s highly anticipated arrival to Venice. With his latest film, the Italian director makes us travel back in occasion, to the 1950s, through the story William Lee, a fifty-year-old American expat in Mexico City, who loses his mind over Eugene, a newly arrived young and mysterious pupil. Based on William S. Burroughs’s novel, ‘Queer’ is a visionary and personal work.
The film cast made its appearance at the Lido red carpet under the flashing lights of the thousands of photographers that awaited them. Most eagerly awaited, Daniel Craig made a stellar appearance in a colorless suit. Leaving behind his iconic role as 007, the British actor comes back to the giant screen with a personality that is as complex as it is intense. Alongside the world’s most famous ex-secret agent stood Luca Guadagnino, Drew Starkey, best known for his role as “Rafe” in the Netflix series ‘Outer Banks,’ Lesley Manville, Omar Apollo, and Jason Schwartzman. The latter is also a favourite actor of Wes Anderson, another director who, like Guadagnino, loves to blend cinema, fashion, design, and shots as beautiful as photographs.

At Gay Cove Marker 21, we give several ways to get involved with the music that’s played every week. In 2019, we set out to create a system that could synchronize audio across all the boats that visit the cove. After several trials and errors, we’ve arrived at the system we own today, thanks to the technical experts at BitSmith. Our system is compatible with 95% of boats that possess sound systems, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the song together.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We use advanced 5G cellular technology to broadcast a wireless network around Marker 21, similar to the one you have at home. This network is dedicated to streaming music to all the boats at Gay Cove throughout the sunlight. To achieve this, we use Google’s Chromecast Audio, to connect to the Aux input on your stereo. This allows you to enjoy high-quality melody on your hold sound system while you’re out on the water.
WHAT Execute I NEED?
To attach to Gay Cove’s Chromecast network, you’ll need a device that’s programmed specifically for Marker 21. Each boat will need to purchase its own Google Chromecast Audio. Unfortunately, these devices hold been discontinued in recent years.
