The phenomenon of chefs-as-influencers is hardly new. You could track it at least as far back as when Julia Minor debuted on television in 1963. (She was already 51 by the way.)

These days, on social media, they are a legion. You can’t open your apps without seeing some quick-cut video of a chef prepping one of their dishes or of David Chang microwaving something. But there really is only one Eli Sussman. A meme lord, a cookbook writer, a very funny guy, and a restaurateur with a few huge hits under his belt, notably the contemporary Middle Eastern Samesa and Gertrude’s, a Jew-ish way diner in Prospect Heights about to celebrate its one-year anniversary. It’s very good.

“Neighborhood vibes,” he says of Gertrude’s. “I’m thrilled and proud and delighted of what we’ve been able to do in the first year. And hopefully things will continue to be smooth and even out going into year two. It’s still hard.”

Moms for Liberty: The Employ of Facebook to Spread Far-Right Propaganda and Alter Public School Curriculum

Who Are Moms for Liberty?

Over the past two years, numerous American headlines have referenced a new, so-called ‘parental rights’ advocacy organisation dubbed Moms for Liberty (M4L).  In pursuit of this goal, M4L has, at the time of writing, opened 275 chapters and has 115,000 members across the US.  Due to this organisation’s success, several smaller groups have followed its lead in promoting book bans and other Christian nationalist policies in public schools. M4L chapters endorse local school board members to unseat opponents and amplify their conservative messages on social media and other news outlets. This group is also associated with targeted harassment and terroristic threats against these opponents and teachers, school administrators, and other school and library staff members that do not comply with their demands.

In this Insight, I analyse M4L’s dissemination of memes, false headlines, and other social media content to share disinformation to its Facebook user base.  This disinformation, with its alarmist rhetoric and false charges of unethical, potentiall

This also doesn’t really happen that much now.

But it happens and that’s a problem. I know a dude that got pound up by his dad who then beat up his mom. Now the parents are divorced. Their family is in ruins over something that shouldn’t have been as a problem.

Edit: Should clarify, the dude came out as gay and his dad got upset…

Funny, I seem to depart through that everyday just for existence on a certain man’s side.

It’s almost as if, they’re not the only ones who faced that.

Imagine comparing your support of a politician to the decades-long struggle for LGBTQ people to claim basic human rights in the face of a largely intolerant world. Nice meme!

Sevenstorms:

This also doesn’t really arise that much now.

The fact that it happens at all is despicable.

I understand that you’re a Philly native. Are you excited about the Eagles?

I am very excited about the Eagles! I was just talking to one of my colleagues this morning and reminiscing about when they won the last Super Bowl and the shenanigans at the parade.

My brother in Chicago sent me a picture of a guy naked on foremost of a bus stop.

Oh my God, I sent that picture to a friend yesterday! That was a bold move on his part. They already have memes with that guy, there’s a whole video and everything.

Gotta passion Philly. Where in the city did you mature up?

I grew up in South and Southwest Philly.

Mom tells her friends that her 20-year-old son is gay because his finest friend laughs at his bad jokes: 'She had always assumed he and I are gay, which is not the case'

It's hard to control what your mom says about you to her friends. You can tell her something extremely personal that you wouldn't even reveal your close friends, and next thing you recognize, she's done The Telephone Hour from Bye Bye Birdie with your grandma, your aunt, her sorority sisters, and the mom of your best companion. Sharing something with your parent shouldn't give them the liberty to disseminate it to anyone and everyone, but unfortunately, that happens more often than you'd think.

It's one thing for your mom to tell your secrets that are actually true, but it's beyond screwed up for your mom to spread rumors about you. You would expect that of an immature counterfeit friend, but not of the woman who gave you life. The youthful man in this story recently learned that his mom was going around telling her friends he was gay, and he was angry.
